The Organizer's speech
Macao International Trade and Investment Fair (MIF) - is currently the largest integrated international exposition comprised of economic and trade talks, products display, business matching and promotion. Over the years, it has played an active role in attracting foreign investment, increasing imports and exports and in promoting economic and trade co-operation. It has provided an excellent channel for the exhibitors and trade visitors at home and abroad to promote their products and service, improve their enterprise image, obtain industrial information and build customers’ relations.
Since returning to China, Macao has actively participated in regional economic and trade co-operation. The Pan-Pearl River Delta regional co-operation is extended to Guangdong, Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Guangxi and Hainan, coupled with the SARs of Hong Kong and Macao, forming the “9+2” in the hinterland of the mainland. The area of “9+2” region is about 2 million square kilometers. Under this framework, Macao will bring into full play its role of economic and trade platform, especially the platform for economic and trade co-operation between the interior of China and Portuguese-speaking countries.
“Portuguese-speaking countries” is a potential market with strong complement of China’s economy. In view of Macao’s unique historical and cultural background, Macao will continue to strengthen its advantages to become an economic and trade co-operation platform between China and Portuguese-speaking countries. Meanwhile, since its holding, MIF has always attracted government representatives and enterprisers from Portuguese-speaking countries to the Fair. It has provided an opportunity for exhibitors and trade visitors to exchange and co-operate with Portuguese-speaking countries by setting up state exhibition halls and holding different related activities for Portuguese-speaking countries.
We sincerely invite Macao’s, domestic and foreign government apparatuses, economic and trade organizations , chambers of commerce and enterprises to participate in the 12th MIF, and taking advantage of this grand meeting gathering business circles to promote jointly the transregional economic co-operation to meet new opportunities!

Approved by the organizer of the 12th MIF, a special pavilion for tourism and leisure products will be set up. The pavilion is an important part of the 12th MIF. Entrusted by Macao Convention & Exhibition Association, Guangdong Intexpo Co., Ltd is in charge of organizing domestic manufacturers and suppliers to participate in the fair.
After returning to China, the Central Government pays great attention to the exhibition industry of Macao. Following the tourism and gaming industry, the exhibition industry in Macao has now become the third mainstay industry. MIF has been successfully held for 11 sessions, and has been certified by UFI.. During the 11th? MIF in 2006, “the Economic and Trade Co-operation Forum” and “the 2nd Conference at Ministerial Level” between China and Portuguese–speaking countries were held. The 11th MIF set up 17 pavilions, held 32 forums, conferences and seminars and 502 sessions of business matching. Admissions to the Fair reached 64.6 thousand.
The12th MIF in 2007 will be held in the newly built Venetian Macao convention & Exhibition Centre which has been invested over 2 billion US dollars. The scale of this Fair will be much larger than that of last Fair, and its contents will be much richer and varied. “Mega Macao”（about 30,000 m2）which is the largest one of the same kind in Asia has moved to Macao to be held with the 12th MIF and TLP. Hundreds of thousands of international purchasers from over 30 countries will attend the Fair.
The number of foreign tourists to Macao in 2006 exceeded 22 million, and it is expected to reach 25 million in 2007. Macao has become more and more important as an important tourist, gaming and exhibition industry city in Asia and the world. We will take the occasion of the 12th MIF to hold “Macao International Tourism and Leisure Products Exhibition”. During the exhibition, we will introduce to foreign visitors our tourist resort, tourism and leisure products, gifts and presents, food and special local products. At the same time, we will provide good service for business matching and trade talks for those tourist product projects intended to be developed and to attract businessmen and investment, and will provide a rare business opportunity for domestic manufactories and suppliers to enter the international market.

Participation Procedures:
- All the exhibits must accord with “the Intellectual Property Rights Protection Measures of the Fair”. Once any exhibits are found to be suspected involvement in infringement on other exhibitor’s right or beyond the exhibits scope, they will be dealt with according to related stipulations of the Fair.
- Please fill in the “Application/Contract Form” with official seal as required, and mail the original to the co-ordinator.
- After the “Application /Contract Form” is confirmed, a deposit of US$10,000, or the total exhibition expenses should be remitted to the co-ordinator within seven days. The remitting voucher should be faxed subsequently to the co-ordinator for checking.
- After receiving the exhibition expenses from the applying party, the latter party’s booth(s) will be confirmed. The booth-arranging principle is “Apply First, Pay First and Arrange First”.
- After paying off the relevant expenses within the fixed time, if the applying party withdraws its application by its own reason, the expenses paid will not be returned. The co-ordinator has the right to cancel the applying party’s booth(s).
- The deadline for booking: August 31, 2007. The co-ordinator will offer one “Exhibitors’ Manual” for each exhibitor one and a half month before the opening of the Fair.

2.After the Application/Contract Form is confirmed, please pay in advance a deposit of RMB10,000, otherwise the booth(s) will not be guaranteed.
3.If the actual freight volume or the actual value of the exhibits are different from what the exhibitor declared, the exhibitor will be held responsible for all the loss arising therrefrom.
4.The loss of the exhibitor caused by force majeure, such as war, strike, and natural disaster, will be solved through consultation of the both parties.
